Harmony Explosion Northeast (HXNE) is bringing its high-energy vocal workshop and concert to Woodlawn School Auditorium on Saturday, May 23, 2026, offering a unique opportunity for high school and college-age singers, music educators, and a cappella enthusiasts to dive into this thrilling art form. Have you ever heard a chord ring with such perfect harmony that it sends shivers down your spine? That's the magic of barbershop a cappella, and this immersive event will unlock its secrets for you. Learn from the Best: Leading the workshop is none other than Melody Hine, an award-winning music educator, arranger, chorus director, and barbershop quartet champion. A unique Faculty Quartet will assist her, The Workman Family Singers, which includes two high school students and their parents who love performing barbershop a cappella. The experience culminates in a live performance. These highly skilled vocal instructors have infectious energy and a deep understanding of the barbershop a cappella style, and will guide teenage participants through vocal techniques, harmonising skills, and performance polish.  Sing Canada Harmony: https://singcanadaharmony.ca The Sing Canada Harmony Scholarship Fund was created to assist Canadians by providing financial assistance for educational and training opportunities in vocal music performance, vocal music leadership, vocal music administration and vocal music composition, arrangement, adjudication and staging. The intent is to provide funding for learning opportunities for Canadian men and women, particularly youth and children to gain expertise and experience in the field of singing a cappella vocal music harmony in quartets and choruses. |

 Valley Voices: https://www.valleyvoices.org/ Valley Voices is an a cappella chorus that welcomes all women. Based in Kentville, Nova Scotia, our members come from communities throughout the Annapolis Valley and beyond. We belong to Harmony, Incorporated – a non-profit international organization of women, with chapters in Canada and the US from California to Newfoundland who enjoy singing unaccompanied four-part harmony in the barbershop style. Membership offers women an opportunity to improve their vocal technique, enjoy friendship, traveling, education and performing. Each spring we compete in our area contest with other chapters from the Atlantic Provinces. As well as being a competing chorus, Valley Voices is a performing chorus and entertains at events sponsored by service clubs and other organizations, churches, nursing homes, outdoor events, malls and special functions such as community festivals. |
